A Brief History of Disney’s Boardwalk Inn

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn opened in 1996 as part of the larger Boardwalk Resort complex. Designed by architect Robert A.M. Stern, the Boardwalk Inn draws inspiration from the grand Atlantic City and Coney Island boardwalks of the early 20th century.

I dare say it is my favorite resort on property. I haven't seen them all yet, but it's on my list!

With its colorful facades, whimsical decor, and carnival-esque atmosphere, the resort immediately transports guests to a bygone era of seaside amusement parks and summer vacations.

The Boardwalk Inn's design pays homage to the classic charm and elegance of these historic boardwalks while offering all the modern amenities Disney Deluxe Resort guests have come to expect.

Proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios

One of the biggest perks of staying at the Boardwalk Inn is its proximity to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Guests can easily walk to Epcot's International Gateway entrance, which is just a short stroll away, or take a scenic boat ride to Hollywood Studios.

This convenience allows guests to maximize their time in the parks and enjoy a leisurely pace, whether they’re hopping between attractions or returning to the resort for a midday break.
